How I work

My way or working involves being guided by you, helping you to voice your feelings and experiences, paying attention to what may be helpful for you. Whilst sitting with you, I draw upon these orientations, humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT, and the transpersonal; and use a range of creative approaches in amongst mostly talking, such as mindfulness/meditations, visualisations, drawing, and dream and body work.


My approach involves offering you a different perspective, helping  you to explore what is going on for you and why, and how the past may be impacting your present. And helping you to heal from those past experiences that can hold you back. You will also gain a better understanding of what you want from your life, be able to trust yourself and your decisions, and discover your hidden qualities. I will also offer you tools and techniques in how to manage yourself in a balanced way, going forward.


I have experience in the following areas:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Loneliness

  • Low self-esteem

  • Lack of meaning/purpose in life

  • Grief and loss

  • Race/Culture/Identity issues

  • Childhood trauma -including, neglect, sexual, emotional and physical abuse

  • Addictions including sex and love, porn, work, thought patterns and substances

  • Working with Couples - communication issues and lack of emotional or sexual intimacy

  • Relationship issues - including difficult family and work dynamics and how to voice your needs in relationships





What to expect

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes for individuals and up  to 1.5hrs for couples, taking place on a weekly basis, at an agreed time. Our first session will involve doing an assessment together, which includes finding out more about you, your personal history, and if I am the right therapist for you. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions. 


If we agree to work together after the assessment, the number  

of sessions depend on what you would like to work on, which we can review together on an ongoing basis.
